Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival

The Palm Springs Women’s Jazz Festival is a Labor Day festival that lasts from Sept. 1 through Sunday, Sept. 4. This is the fourth year of the festival that emphasizes the great female jazz musicians, looking at contemporary, smooth jazz, blues, and more. It starts off on Sept. 1 with a Chill gathering at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and then the music kicks off on Friday night and concludes with a brunch on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel.

College of the Desert Street Fair in Palm Desert

The College of the Desert Street Fair takes place in Palm Desert on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 7 a.m. until noon. This is free to attend and is located at the northwest corner of the College of the Desert campus. The event will offer a shaded shopping experience with merchandise and more for people of all ages, counting over 300 merchants, artists, and more in attendance. There will also be live entertainment for attendees and gourmet food for sale as well.

Labor Day at The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

On Labor Day in Palm Springs, there are extended hours for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which will open at 8 a.m. and the last tram will take off at 8 p.m., with the entire system shutting down at 9:45 p.m. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the largest rotating tram car in the world and travels along the cliffs of the Chino Canyon at an elevation of 2,643 feet, up to the Mountain Station, which has an elevation of 8.516 feet, in just 10 minutes.
